PHILADELPHIA, April 13 – State Rep. Babette Josephs, D-Phila., is reminding city residents that the deadline to register to vote or change their party affiliation for the May 15 primary election is Monday, April 16.
To be eligible to vote in Pennsylvania, you must be at least 18 on the date of the election, a citizen of the United States for at least one month before the election, and a resident of the election district in Pennsylvania in which you register at least 30 days before the election.
Residents can register to vote in a number of ways: in person, by mail and even online. More information on how to register and where to vote on primary Election Day is available from Josephs' constituent service office by calling 215-560-5816, or by contacting the Philadelphia Voter Registration office at 215-686-1500 or 215-686-1505.
Josephs reminds voters that on May 15 they will be choosing Democratic and Republican general election candidates for the following offices:
· Mayor of Philadelphia
· City Council member
· City Commissioners
· Clerk of Quarter Sessions
· Registrar of Wills
· Sheriff
· Trial Judges – Court of Common Pleas
· Trial Judges – Municipal Court
· Trial Judges – Traffic Court
· Justice – Pennsylvania Supreme Court
· Judge – Pennsylvania Superior Court
