Josephs honors Philadelphia city police officers

Cites outstanding efforts and dedication

PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 12 – State Rep. Babette Josephs, D-Phila., awarded citations to 12 police officers in recognition of their outstanding service and commitment during the 17th Police District Advisory Council annual Blue Ribbon Ceremony this week.

The event also featured presentations from other state representatives and council members.

Josephs said she felt privileged to award citations to the Blue Ribbon Day honorees in recognition of their hard work.

"These 12 men and women work tirelessly to maintain safety and justice in the city of Philadelphia. Unlike most people, they are in danger every moment that they work, and more than one has been injured during this year. I am proud to present them with this token of gratitude on behalf of myself, our community, and the state of Pennsylvania. And I say to them and to all police officers, a deep and sincere, 'Thank you.'"

The Annual Blue Ribbon Ceremony is a joint venture of the 17th Police District and its advisory council. The ceremony was held this week at its district headquarters.
